The prosperous East is related to the nearby White Mountains. The ground is mostly limestone, so below the surface is an intricate web of caves. The East's caves are all flooded by an aquifer- so wherever they come to the surface (and it's frequent) there's an oasis.

| Mt. Siyall (1 sub-board)
Mt. Siyall- meaning 'moth', is the beloved heart of the South. The volcano hasn't erupted since beyond living memory, and its slopes and foot are home to a bustling mystic culture. Twisted evergreens climb the slopes as well as the beautiful native 'crimson cherry'. Onsen (hot springs) ring the mountain's foot, their waters supposedly having marvelous restorative powers. Perhaps it's true, because the Red Desert's oldsters certainly seem to live longer and more vivaciously- and when they're all crammed in the onsen, it's trouble for any young whippersnapper that comes to pass. Be nice, though, and one of the geezers might see fit to pass on their life's work...

| The Dunes
Yes, there has to be an area in a desert that has proper sand dunes. Very out-of-the-way, at the cleft of the mountain ranges, people usually don't go here unless it's deliberately to see the dunes. There's no ocean, but I guess you can still play with the sand.
